Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th, 1991. She is an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her debut EP Pho, released which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded music online in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 the mixtape Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued uploading her songs online, including her independent single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes, from Sweat It Out, on the 21st of July in 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to work with Rihanna. The announcement that she would be signed to Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In the month of October the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was accompanied by EarthGang. She also appeared in 2018 on two songs alongside her label-mates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was then followed by a short video in September. On the 9th of November she dropped two more singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two singles more were released on the 11th of November Pedigree and No One. The singer appeared alongside Cole in The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16th, and released the song as a solo single to the album she released her debut. The 20th of February, 2019, a music clip was released for the song. It has already received over 3 million views on YouTube within the debut week. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
